Aeronautical Form I is a garage kit, a term used to describe a model kit that is designed and manufactured by a hobbyist (as opposed to an official manufacturer). Traditionally, garage kits are either a bootleg of a rare and out of print plastic model kit/figure, a modification of an existing kit that adds or changes small details, or an entirely new design. They are rarely licensed, and are much more difficult to assemble than a store bought kit.
This particular kit is a replica of a small sculpture, scratchbuilt from plastic detritus and styrene sheet to suggest an ambiguous technological form. Assembly requires, sanding, filling, glue, and paint. The kit is roughly 1x1x3” when completed, and includes a display box.
A useful tutorial for assembly of resin model kits can be found at Starship Modeler.
For those who would like a completed kit, there is a separate listing available in our store.
